I discuss the recent development in dense QCD from color superconductivity to the meson condensation, in terms of effective field theories. By investigating the Cooper pair gap equations and the vacuum energy, we find the precise form of gap, the critical temperature, and when the mesons condense. We also discuss the positivity of the effective theory and its implication.
